  About the Artist

R. David New has studied art at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, The University of the Arts, The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

From Graphic Design to Fashion Design to Industrial Design David finally found a nitch in Interior Design because it encompassed so many mediums. David works in glass, ceramics, fabric design, sculpture and anything he can get his hands on.

His latest endeavors include fabric sculpture dipped in paint and draped on canvas and mobile hanging designs with hundreds of Ping Pong Balls.

After losing his sight in 2001 from a rare eye disease he has become more tactile with his art and now seeks to share his art with the Blind community as well as the Sighted community.

“Art should be experienced in many ways; by sight, touch, and sound. ”
